Piper’s anemone or piper’s windflower is a perennial wildflower found in the forests and mountains. Its home can be found the Blue Mountains of Eastern Oregon and as far east as Montana. Piper’s anemone is a member of the buttercup family. It has five small pedals and range in color from purple to pink and white. They reach anywhere from 15-35 cm high. Piper’s anemone is even documented in the Lewis & Clark’s journals as some of the flowers they collected during their expedition on June 15, 1806!
